Tensile Testers & Force Testers from Universal Grip
Universal Grip offers a full line of tensile testers & force testers through its partnership with Mark-10, a USA based manufacturer. These systems are a great, cost-friendly option for companies seeking basic tensile testing functionality. For more advanced and higher force testing, universal testing machines could be a better option.
The Mark-10 machines are capable of performing wide range of tensile & compression tests including flexure, puncture, shear, coefficient of friction, peel testing, and many more types of tests. By outfitting the machine with the appropriate grips, the machine can serve multiple functions in either a production quality or R&D setting.
Two Options - EasyMESUR (Basic) vs. IntelliMESUR (Advanced)
The EasyMESUR option is the lowest cost option and is perfect for basic quality testing. The entire system is run via the touchpad screen. Simple tests like basic pull-testing can be set up and executed within minutes. Additional software functionality can be added later, including the complete software package to upgrade it to an IntelliMESUR system.
The IntelliMESUR system is a high feature tensile tester capable of matching the functionality of most Universal Testing Machines. This system can execute advanced tests including multi-phased tests. The system can be controlled via the touchpad or via PC-control. The software for this system is provided a-la-carte, allowing the user to configure the ideal system with overpaying for unused features.
Configuration Options
1. Test Stand
Choose a Test Stand based on the force capacity you are looking for. Either 100, 300, 500, 750 or 1500 lbs. The stroke of the machine is also important to consider. Options for short stroke (lower cost) and longer stroke for high elongation samples are available.
2. Software - EasyMESUR vs. IntelliMeasure
There are several software options available. Some are critical for certain tests, such as Distance Measurement. While other options are more for quality of life and efficiency, such as the Return to Home and Follow Me functions. For a full list of SW features available, please take a look at the chart referenced above. Universal Grip can also advise on the best options for you and your testing goals.
3. Grips & Fixtures
Universal Grip offers a full line of tensile grips and compression fixtures to outfit a Mark-10 Force Tester. By using different grips, a multitude of different tests can be performed including bend, crush, peel, puncture, shear, and tear testing. A standard adapter kit is used to easily mount and unlock our complete line of testing fixtures.
Purchasing & Support
Universal Grip sells and supports Mark-10's full line of tensile testers and force testing machines World-wide. Each machine ships with a standard 3 year warranty. These systems are more basic than universal testing machines, however they are great for quality and manufacturing environments where the scope of testing is limited.
Mark-10 tensile testing machines are easy to use. There are many software additions which can be included to help with repeated testing. Options such as Return to Home, full PC Control, and Break Detection are all available and also customizable. With a Mark-10 machine, you can customize the system according to your exact needs without worrying about paying for extra features that you will never use.
Load readings are measured on these machines by the load cell and ouput directly onto the Touchpad screen or PC screen. The load cells are calibrated and accurate enough to meet and exceed most tensile testing standards such as ASTM D412 for elastomers and ASTM D638 for plastics. The load cell usually matches the maximum force of the test stand, although smaller and more precise load cells can be used for low force testing.
With Universal Grip's adapter package, each Mark-10 machine is fully compatible with our complete line of tensile grips and compression fixtures. We also offer installation and on-site training for these machines. If you have any questions about the Mark-10 tensile testers, we can help!
