ASTM Cutting Die on a Universal Testing Machine
This quick video shows how to use an ASTM cutting die on a UTM or tensile tester in compression mode. The top cutting die is specifically machined to the exact specifications of the testing standard. A nylon counter plate is used behind and underneath the sample. This setup is much cheaper than having to purchase an arbor press for preparing samples.
