ASTM D5379 Iosipescu V-Notch Shear Fixture

ASTM D5379 requires the use of a specially designed V-Notch Shear Fixture. The Iosipescu shear fixture has two main pieces, the base and the top plunger. The right side of the base of the fixture slides up and down along two rails. The top plunger is used to push down on the right side of the base fixture to create the shearing effect. The ASTM D5379 Iosipescu Shear Fixture attaches to a universal testing machine which is operating in compression mode.
