Gauge Length Marking Tool for Video Extensometers
The gauge length marking tool is used to mark samples for use with a video extensometer. ASTM D638 specifies the ideal gauge length for tensile testing of plastics. ASTM E8 or A370 is the most common method used for tensile testing on iron and steel. The marking tool deposits a small piece of retro-reflective or high contrast tape onto the sample in a uniform and repeatable way.
