Shear Test Fixture for Welded Rebar Wire used in Concrete
Most structural concrete is reinforced with steel re-bar wire. This wire is welded together into a grid or mesh pattern. It is necessary to test the weld strength by shear testing.
This video is for demonstration purposes only. ASTM A185 requires a special fixture. ASTM A185 was recently replaced by ASTM A1064, however the fixture design has remained largely the same.
